And yes, I spotted the ca
1. For me, the end of Raiders Of The Lost Ark.
2. The gigs in The Crow - I actually went to see Medicine when they toured that summer, but avoided My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult in case someone dropped a dead gangster on the stage.
3. Buffy was rarely more than horror-adjacent but every now and then...
4. For series, Chronicles Of Darkness. For one shots, Dread. And I say this as somebody who's pretty bad at Jenga.
5. Betrayal At House On The Hill. It has so much classic haunted-house atmosphere, though you probably need time to play it more than once in an evening as the randomness of the twist, which is part of the fun, might mean a game ends rather suddenly.
6. Until Dawn - a sort of interactive The Cabin In The Woods.
7. Either Thriller, or Come To Daddy by Aphex Twin.
8. The one I keep coming back to, years after it screened at Dead By Dawn, is The Ten Steps.
9. Dead Of Night, either Hugo (of course) or the mirror. I love a good haunted mirror.
10. Night Of The Demon, based on Casting The Runes by M.R. James.
11. Ouija: Origin Of Evil. Yes, Ouija is a game.
12. Hardware. (Sort of.)
13. Candyman, loosely based on the "Bloody Mary" chant-something-in-the-mirror urban legend.
14. Psycho.
15. Jaws.
16. The Lament Configuration from Hellraiser. (Of course I have one, though it's just a box, not an actual puzzle.)
17. The cabin, Evil Dead II.
18. Dracula's cape. Stylin'.
19. The chainsaw.
20. King Kong, Eighth Wonder Of The World.
21. Imperial Stormtroopers. ... Okay, vampires.
22. The Alien, from Alien. (Because the Aliens from Aliens suffered a bad case of Conservation of Ninjutsu.)
23. Ripley.
24. Surprise! It's Buffy.
25. Renfield (so I don't have to choose between Willow, Xander or Giles)
26. Unsurprising answer, Nosferatu.
27. The Bride Of Frankenstein.
28. Creature From The Black Lagoon. Even if it does overdo the clawed hand reaching out shots.
29. The Castlevania series.
30. The Haunting Of Hill House.
31. GHOSTWATCH.
