Firefly action figures - a mixed review

The 6” scale Firefly figures from Funko have arrived at the local FP. Mal, Jayne, Kaylee, Wash and Zoe. (More to follow, one presumes.) I got Mal and Kaylee.

They’re nice figures overall, though they have some issues that the company previews suggested they would - Mal’s coat rides up and Kaylee’s hair is stuck on too far back. Nothing that can’t be fixed with a little effort, and overall this was going to be a positive review...

... until Mal’s left hand came off after some light positioning.

Oddly his gun hand survived having his pistol put into it.
Guess it’s time to break out the glue and pins...

  1. Funko's legacy figures are nice but do have a few breakage issues. I recommend not trying the torso joints (if present) without using a hair dryer (or something similar) to loosen the joint first - I had to return and replace my M:tG Liliana due to the joint snapping when I tried it.

    1. Ouch!

The last time I had the first figure I got from a line break that quickly I was eight, and it was my fault, and I still got my parents to get me a new one. Being an adult sucks...

    2. Yeah,I was pretty damn unimpressed with that (and haven't even tried the joint on my other Legacy figure); the next biggest problem recently has been the head popping off the NECA 1994 Godzilla, but that's on a ball joint so pops back on. I'm hoping the Legacy line will improve as it goes on, since it's still fairly new, but Funko's prolific release pattern might not help with that.

Did you notice Wash comes with his dinosaurs?
