Issue 1 of the BOOM! Buffy reboot established a lot, while issue 2 introduces a bit more, continuing the setup, and plays a bit more with various expectations.
For one thing, as an old school fan, Nice Cordelia terrifies me.
Spike was mysterious in his original introduction before establishing what he was really up to, but here we see him purely as the mysterious brooding guy? But at Cordelia rather than Buffy.
Also a reminder that there’s still no sign of Angel, the traditional mysterious brooding guy.
Willow’s girlfriend Rose and Joyce’s boyfriend Eric both get brief introductions, as does High School Senior Robin Wood.

And yes, the introspective blog does indeed appear to be Xander. This is one sad Xander.
