The Vampyre by Edinburgh medical graduate Dr. John Polidori, which introduced the Byronic vampire as a lengthy diss on Byron himself. It came about during the Byron gang’s stay at Lake Geneva in The Year Without A Summer, which was also the genesis of Mary Shelley’s
Frankenstein.
