Oscar night lights

As this selection of film-themed boardgames mentions, why don’t the Oscars have interesting adverts?

Oscar night RPG ideas: plot hooks from Best Picture nomineees and going to the awards.

So for this year’s nominees...

1917
A small group of soldiers on a desperate secret mission. Also made to look like it was all done in one, while throwing in every conceivable threat of the battles involved, so... a constant conflict with no chances to fall back, rest, recharge spells and the like?

Ford v Ferrari
A contest between the designated champions of two great companies / nations / gangs in their specific area of expertise, which is about to spill out into fighting between support crews and fans. What can the PCs bring to it, and can they stop it overheating? Or make it?

The Irishman
An old warrior looks back on years of fighting and wonders what it’s really accomplished. Bounce back and forth between time frames... maybe shifting narration between players Munchausen style?

Jojo Rabbit
... Paranoia adventure maybe?

Joker
Why is your archvillain like that? And is the story they tell really just an excuse?

Little Women
A close-knit family deals with a variety of social issues, some specific to their era, some universal. With a bit of a flashback format as well!

Marriage Story
The slow collapse of a relationship, or an alliance, and you’re in the middle.

Once Upon A Time In... Hollywood
The Western TV era could be a great game setup, otherwise the player-as-actor format of some meta games could work? Rewriting history optional.

Parasite
How do you finagle yourself into a position of privilege? Infiltrate a palace, perhaps? And to what end?
