Yes, online really does mean that a session 0 is possibly more neccessary, at least till everyone gets a handle on what they are using for software.That's not to say that you fix it all in one go. I tend to lose 10-15 minutes of each session with new players setting up. What are you using? I've been doing quite well with Roll20 and Discord for audio.
For (relative) simplicity, Discord with video and in one player's case audio, as GEAS has a Discord already. (Playing another game on Zoom, and another on Webex as one of the players there couldn't get Zoom to work...)
