The Falcon And The Winter Soldier 2: The Star-Spangled Man

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier
2: The Star-Spangled Man

The Star-Spangled Man is a reminder of the outrageous lack of an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for Captain America: The First Avenger.

There were two nominees!

TWO!

That’s a really mean thing to do to the team behind the song that lost.

Anyway, the episode. In which the Falcon and the Winter Soldier meet, unlike the first episode!

We get our first look at Wyatt Russell as John Walker without the “Carl From Up” helmet, and putting him out there in public lets us get the introduction in-character. He gets that he has, as he puts it, big shoes to fill.

Sam and Bucky team up, with a lot of the “buddy movie” trailer scenes coming from this episode, and give him (and his pointman Lemar Hoskins, played by Clé Bennett) an idea of just how big as the four of them hit the same Flag Smasher attack...

“So who are you fighting now, Gandalf?”

And Erin Kellyman, Enfys Nest from Solo: A Star Wars Story is again playing a masked rebel leader!

The Flag Smashers stealing vaccines might play differently now than it did when planned.

Sam being treated badly by authority figures and then recognised again.

Bucky’s concern over Steve being right about Sam...

And we have more supersoldiers, so Bucky looks in on Isaiah Bradley (played by Carl Lumbly) who became one at least as early as the Korean War...
