Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee procession was held on
June 22nd 1897, filmed by forty cameras from different companies (
one example thanks to the BFI) and shown all around the world within days. An eighth of a millennium later the recent Platinum Jubilee was beamed in HD pretty much live, but this was the first mass media event a year after the first films were shown to the public.
(So if you want to do the plot where somebody spots a time traveller in an old movie, this is pretty much the first multi-camera event to do it.)
