The out-of-nowhere artefact that becomes a key part of multiple plans feels particularly right.
Kind of overdoes the flashbacks, but admits that.
As has been noted elsewhere, Hugh Grant is basically playing his role in Paddington 2, and this is not a complaint.
My first big laugh in the pre-credits might have been bigger a minute later:

And I may have been heard to say “Be careful, Themberchaud!” at one point in the chasing / rolling / falling bit.
