10 Cloverfield Lane isn’t really a Cloverfield sequel...
Sort of kind of in emotional content, but not in shooting style or in sequence. It started as an unconnected story, and could have been changed more to fit. As is, it stands well on its own. So it’s like Halloween III, in the relating-to-another-title way rather than the being-crazy way.
But it has callbacks, notably starting from a possibly connected issue. Would you feel shortchanged with a game like this? A Call of Cthulhu adventure that presents a non-Cthulhoid monster, maybe? How close does something have to be to count, so to speak?
