And a while after the US, that’s a wrap on season five of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Feels like a series finale more than a season...
What with the main character retiring while immediately terminally ill and the rest of the team off to a new adventure which also involves saving a different dead main character - nice of them to acknowledge the existing get-out clause right away. As well as killing off the annual Big Bad, sadly as he was a likable recurring character now messed up beyond saving by brain damage and superpowers. (And he ate Creel too! Weird enough that we got a TV version of the Absorbing Man who became a good guy.)
The finale also had a certain Avengers Battle Of New York feel, aptly considering Coulson dying near it too, with the spaceship slamming down on a big US city in broad daylight and the emphasis on first responder heroism.
Unresolved question which I presume we’ll get back to - did Deke cease to exist or not? I would guess not because the timeline is proven to be changeable and affected by those with foreknowledge.
