1.04: Cornered
“The Batch’s supply run goes awry.”
22 minutes plus credits, which is a very classic animated series kind of length.
The Batch land to pick up supplies and scramble their ship’s ID.
And we have a guest star. Arriving three and a half minutes in, and already seen in trailers: Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, mercenary sniper first seen decades later in-character in The Mandalorian.
The shots from the trailer showing Hunter on a speeder bike come from here as he chases Fennec, after she helps and then grabs the lost Omega, her actual target, who is resourceful when threatened. Meanwhile Echo is stuck disguised as a droid and sold for credits for supplies, Wrecker and Tech (and Gonky) are back working on the ship for maximum awkward double act, but the coordinate well when called in.
My favourite moment was the Western standoff moment with the focus shifting as Hunter and Fennec get ready to draw, a nice bit of live-action film style in animation.
And I liked the bit with the citizens cheering the Clonetroopers marching by.
