Encounters on the edge of space

Matthew Knighton, creator of Distant Stars, has written a series of systemless SF creatures, monsters and encounters for Shades Of Vengeance, and the first is now free on their Patreon, starting a monthly feature. I could see the Memory, the first example, as a monster/puzzle of the week in something like DS, Star Trek or Doctor Who.
