As I feared the game feels unnecessarily complex and complicated, with the dice mechanics contorted to tie in with the "616" tag of the prime Marvel Universe.
I've cancelled my pre-order for the starter book after reading this.
Superhero games, to emulate the source material, need to be slick and fast for both players and gamesmasters - and I get the impression that this is more akin to a bloated fantasy RPG with a million traits and defined powers.
What a missed opportunity for Marvel (but then the last RPG they produced in-house - the diceless one that used stones - was pretty rough as well).
Thanks for highlighting this.

Glad to help and, yeah.
