1.04: Seeing Red
How to make Buffy fans nervous in one episode title.
Oh well, I was only starting to get attached to the character who died suddenly at the end.
After a nice fish-out-of-water episode, a meet-cute fight, a fun chase, and before a cliffhanger ending. This show is getting bigger than junior crimefighting in New Jersey. And the connection to Partition is particularly grounding an otherwise light show.
Sarah Shaffi’s A. V. Club review has a lot of added information on the episode’s historical and cultural references.
I also like that they went straight from establishing s SUPERMAX PRISON caption to the escape. They could have at least not gotten that far.
