Everything That I Love Will Destroy Me In The End

Beck
Robin

Beck joins Robin at a booth overlooking the dancefloor.

He confirms what he’s learned about Beaufoy having worked for Milliner, which Robin says is useful and asks if there’s more, Beck dangles the information about her hangout but Robin says they know that already.

“Guess I’ll be seeing her tomorrow by myself.”
“You’re meeting her? Where?”
“What would that be worth?”
“I would like a chance to set a trap for her.”
“She’s nobody to me, just a means to an end. But it would be a shame if she found out you’re after her.”
“Are you blackmailing me?”
“Oh no, that’s such an ugly word. This is extortion.”
“What do you want?”
“One of the Tremere might have something I want.”

Robin agrees to check out Astor’s business.

Looking around at the crowd, Beck notices Drake and Samara sharing a booth with Ishan, promoter for an Anarch Rack club, and by the bar he sees Lucas, one of his own clan who recruits for the cult of Mithras.

The club lights up as a woman called Swan takes the stage, wearing angel wings, backed by synth, drums and a violin.

So I break my own heart over and over again

Robin sees a man being a little too pushy on the dancefloor and picks his pocket to visit him later.

During the gap between the main show and the encore, he joins Colette and Laurence to ask about them, with Robin following close enough to eavesdrop.

Colette confirms that Lucas is here quite often, noting that he seems more relaxed here than Beck does himself, which he agrees to and decides to do something about it. She in turn asks what he’s doing to help his sire with her charity event and he suggests they should come. Laurence grumbles about having to wear a suit and Colette smirks and says they’ll definitely be there.

They also notice Vince talking with Ishan. “The man confounds me...”

They approach Saint again before leaving. Beck compliments him on the show and asks about the Anarchs and Saint shrugs like it’s just the way of things.

On the way out, Beck catches the eye of a girl waiting outside and tells her to go and accuse Lucas of being the father of her child.

He chuckles as he observes, one of the women who was with the vampire storming off and him glaring at the girl before leaving as well.

Seeing the look, Robin makes sure the girl gets out of there in one piece.
