The Hitter is perhaps the most “optional” Role of the five, there if something goes wrong, and there are certainly episodes of Leverage where the creators quickly sketched in a reason to include a fight.
Background
Mr. Burrell is a privately contracted bodyguard, following a stint in the military, working with the Crew initially professionally but now because they actually seem to be helping people.
