“In we go.” Antha lets the group into Martin’s flat with casual ease. Isabella looks over his notes. Cherie points out the space where a laptop should probably sit. Maebh gets a good sense of Martin’s scent.

She compares it to the lingering scent at the café, and figures how to track another. She finds a rat in a nearby alley and they confirm that person has not been there the past two or three nights.

She follows that second faint scent back to campus, and leaves her magpie to watch one of the computer science buildings.

Wanting to get back to the Rack and slake her thirst as it nears sunrise, Antha leads Maebh and Isabella back to XX. Looking for someone on the edge rather than the dancefloor. The young man she finds was also being observed by another vampire regular, Rook. Which Antha knows. She’s in that kind of mood.

Colette asks Isabella how that lead panned out, while Laurence watches to see if Antha and Rook are going to make a scene.

“It’s nice to share...” Rook says as Antha heads out.

“So I hear.”

He growls as she strolls away.

Isabella wakes during the day, with an impression of watching Martin and Claire from a distance. Something she didn’t do herself.

Sleeping badly, she rises early and haunts the campus to find someone using a library room to catch up on some sleep.

Claire Davies

The three meet at the lab. Maebh spots Claire leaving and Antha approaches.

“Hey, you know Martin, right?”

“Yeah, he was supposed to call me yesterday if he had time to meet. Or if he didn’t.”

“So you haven’t seen him?”

Claire starts to look worried. “N-No. Have you heard something?”

“Oh, I just wanted to ask him something about... his paper, right?”

“Yeah, it’s about Henry the Eighth, the wife who died.” Claire takes a moment to try to remember which one that was, then goes back to worrying. Antha gets her number by offering to keep her up to date.

Maebh has her scent clearly. And a faint trace of another. Not one she knows, but definitely a vampire.
