Vampire: Empire 2026 3

Vampire: The Masquerade fifth edition
Empire

3. Down Below

Daisy, Toreador jazz singer and club owner
Silas, Ventrue enforcer
(Jesse, Tremere phlebotomist and Circulatory System supplier)
Emmet, Hecata researcher
Echo, Malkavian fortune teller

The Professor’s guard draws a submachine gun. Silas attacks. The mortal addict they brought to test the drug screams and hides behind the chair. Daisy tries to free the girl.

Outside, Echo, Emmet and Jesse hear gunfire and move to enter. They see a car pull up to a side entrance, more armed men get out and head in, and the Professor leaves and goes for the car.

He doesn’t get far as someone inside kills the driver and then him.

The basement door opens and the armed men pile in.

Daisy locks eyes with one and he backs away in fear. Silas commands another to drop his gun and he hesitates long enough for him to steal it. He then bites the now unarmed guard.

The attacker follows Echo and Emmet inside as the guards flee.

He identifies himself as Dane.

A vampire who claims membership of no sect.

Daisy releases the girl. She struggles free and grabs the downed guard’s wrist, drinking until alarms sound and the group withdraw, Dane setting the lab on fire as they go.

He explains that he followed a lead from Frank, one of the System’s clients outside the Camarilla, and that the girl was betrayed by one of Frank’s coterie, Ryan.

Jesse finds Frank and he gives Ryan up with barely a thought.

Ryan tries to flee, but Laurence ambushes him. Colette saw enough to know to come there.

The group discuss what to do with the girl, Julie, a Thin-blood that Ryan Embraced without permission. Colette says that there may be a way for her to return to her old life... by killing her sire.

We don’t find out if this works.

Are there more labs, more suppliers? The Camarilla, Anarchs and outsides all have leads to follow.

How big was the plan? How much chaos did they want to cause for the Kindred - and the living?

Saint and Stirling are informed by calls, a message is left for Hellene to meet later.
