One of my favourite things about the Buffyverse is that you can cheerfully throw in and comment on stuff from other genres, including other RPGs. It’s the only game where I’ve ever had the players slay a dragon.
See also the moment where Xander thinks he’s found the monster of the week but Anya tells him “That’s a D&D manual, sweetie.” (I always wanted that to recur with the Trio conjuring an illusion and Xander spots that it really was from a D&D book.)

1.06: If You Go Down To The Woods Today
An environmental survey group goes into the old woods in the valley below town and doesn’t come back. The college organises a search party and... the characters get lost as well. The woods are a lot deeper than they should be. Like, finding overgrown ruins that were local town landmarks yesterday.
“So we have to defeat the tree spirit. Yeah, okay, been that kinda day.”
