So where to begin? A modern town, a high school or college, and... what?
My first pitches of Watchers in training and a college band have gotten years of use, but other options like the crappy first job have had less spotlight time. So, a new pitch...
Black And White And Red All Over
(working title)
A Vampire Slayer and/or other supernatural chosen types, and regular folks types, in a college paper.
Borrowing from Veronica Mars, giving an excuse to be around campus events and to get mixed up investigating mysteries.
Probably not going the Freakylinks route of having the paper publish tabloid-style news stories that happen to be true.
Metaphorically, it’s all about how growing up involves learning lessons about the world and finding out there’s more going on.
The Fenmore College Sentinel has always been a home for journalism majors, photographers in the college arts section, and the like. And it has a history of breaking stories. And also a history of reporters going missing.
A good non-slayer-y super type to have would be a seer, someone that can read people and sense clues and the like.
So we have a Hero, a seer, a keen would-be journalist, a far less keen needs-the-credit type, and room for some others.
For the sake of pitching even though this is the space where PCs go, let’s give them names:
Shelly The Vampire Slayer
Caitlin the seer
Ty the newsie
Madison the one-woman society page
Willis the photographer and tech support
